Golfing Rules
As always the usual rules of golf apply. In addition and to emphasise certain elements please see below:
-
Each 3 or 4 ball will be allocated a scorer for all players but each player must take a note of their own scores in case of a discrepancy.
-
All putts to be sunk - no "gimme's"
-
If you cant score pick up
-
If there is a hint that your ball maybe lost then play a provisonal (in the correct order)
-
If your ball is it out of bounds then you now have the option of playing the shot from the same place (loss of 1 stroke and distance) or from the nearest place on the fairway edge to where the ball crossed the boundary line for the loss of 2 strokes
-
Do not spend more than 3 mins looking for a ball
-
Clubs can be grounded in hazards but not in bunkers
-
Off the green the flag can be in or out but not tended. On the green the flag can be in or out.
-
No penalty for unintentional double hits
-
Balls must be dropped from knee height
-
Players may tee off in any order - Ready Golf
-
Embedded balls can be lifted and placed except when in a penalty area or bunker
-
Hazards are now "penalty areas" and as such there are 3 options for relief as follows for a 1 shot penalty:
1) Play the shot again from same place
2) Take the ball back on a line, as far as you wish, keeping the point of entry and the hole on that line
3) Within 2 club lengths of the point of entry not nearer the hole
-
Ball must be played as it lies unless local rules say otherwise or it is stated at the beginning of the round
-
If in any doubt of the rules ask your fellow players for a ruling BEFORE you hit the shot
-
In the event of a tie a best of 4 hole putting contest will take place and if still a tie then it will be sudden death with the first player to win a hole declared the Crap Tour winner
